Boy with Down’s syndrome was rejected for prom night date, but then something magical happened
They say schooldays are the best days of your life because they are carefree, and prom night is one important date in a young graduate’s life. A young girl took it upon herself to make sure that everyone was included in the big night. What they got was beyond anybody’s wildest dreams!
17-year-old Daniel Revis could not land a date before prom night. Asking someone to be their date in a normal situation can be intimidating, with rejection being a big possibility—but never mind for someone who has Down Syndrome, like Daniel.
Little did the young boy know that one of his peers made it her personal mission to make sure that everyone got to enjoy prom night. This was when Kylie came into the picture.
Not only did Kylie want to ask Daniel to the dance, but she made sure to do it with style, staging her very own personal version of a “promposal.” The thoughtful teen chose to do this remarkable act not just out of sympathy, but because she simply wanted to be his date for the night.
“I don’t think of kids that have a disability . . . I don’t think of them as being different,” Kylie told Fox News. “I hope I can make his night fun.”
But the biggest surprise was waiting for them as prom drew to a close. The Fox5 crew gifted both Daniel and Kylie a trip to Disneyland with their families.
To top it all, Daniel got a $10,000 college grant while Kylie was given a brand-new car. It was a night to remember and cherish, Daniel’s feelings of rejection are now been overshadowed by the company of this sweet girl, as well as a night with fun filled memories.
