Major milestone celebrated by Worklink team
A council-run scheme is celebrating a major milestone which is making a real difference to the lives of adults with learning disabilities.
Worklink, which provides training and employment opportunities to adults with learning disabilities, is now responsible for 61 adults working a collective 100 days a week in their local communities.
Employers of those who have attended Worklink include major national retailers, the catering and hospitality sector, and the East Riding of Yorkshire council.
The ‘100 days a week’ milestone is one which the scheme has been working towards for almost a decade and one which all the staff and students are incredibly proud of.
Councillor Richard Harrap said: “Worklink is a truly pioneering scheme which has so far helped numerous people secure employment regardless of their disability.
