Learning Disability Week : 15th-21st June
SCLD is using Learning Disability Week 2015 as an opportunity to tackle a variety of important and rarely discussed issues under the theme of ‘Equalities’. Starting on Monday 15th June, people across Scotland will be celebrating Learning Disability Week by sharing information, hosting events and trying new things to raise awareness of the issues faced by people with learning disabilities.
We have organised a busy schedule of free SCLD events and are also coordinating the events calendar on the keystolife.info website to keep people up to date with events being organised by groups all over Scotland.
While SCLD has organised events addressing issues faced by older people, digital excluded people, women, and people who identify as LGB or T – other organisations are tackling the issues faced by offenders, the BME community, and much more.
The keystolife.info calendar includes a festival, sports workshop, evening ‘Glitter Ball’ and the launch of dates-n-mates Aberdeen, plus much more! Most of these events are free to attend and still have spaces remaining so it really is worth checking out what’s happening in your area. Follow this link to visit the keystolife.info website now.
If you are organising an event to celebrate Learning Disability Week, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll add your event to the keystolife.info events calendar and publicise the details through our social media accounts. You can also use the Twitter hashtag #LDWeek2015 to share your news, stories and photos throughout the week.
We hope you’re as excited as we are about making this the biggest and best Learning Disability Week yet!
