England – Quality Checking Government Questionnaire

To read on Learning Diability Alliance England website:

Note: In the UK, the term of ‘Learning disability’ is used instead of ‘Intellectual disability’.

Quality Checking Government

Quality CheckingUnite for our rights!

The National Forum of People with Learning Disabilities and the National Valuing Families Forum have come together as part of Learning Disability Alliance England to quality check the UK Government.

We’ve decided what’s important in a good society. We think a good society for people with learning disabilities and their families will be a good society for everyone.

We want to find out if you think the current Government has made things better or worse over the past 5 years.

We’ve put our questions into the Quality Checking Government Questionnaire so that you can mark the Government on how it’s done.

The Questionnaire is live now, please complete it by Wednesday 11th February.

There are 3 options for sending us your marks:

1. Do it online – one person at a time

If you are answering the questions for one person, fill in the questionnaire online now.

2. Do it online – for a group of people

If you are answering the questions for a group (of up to 10 people), print a copy of the questionnaire to look at together and then fill in your results here.

Every person’s vote counts, remember:

If there are 5 people in your group and 3 people think things are a lot worse but 2 people think things are the same you would include everyone’s answer on the questionnaire like this:

filled-in

3. Do it on paper and post us the results

If you or your group find it too difficult to put your answers online you can print off a copy of the questions, fill them in and post the questionnaire to:

Some questions you may have

Who can fill in the questions?

This questionnaire is for everyone. But we do want as many people with learning disabilities as possible to fill this in. This is something people can do together in a self-advocacy group, with their family or with support from friends or staff.

What will happen next?

We are going to put your answers in a report. The results will be announced in Westminster on 24th February 2015 and then will be published here on the LDA website.

Why are we doing this?

On 7th May 2015 there will be a General Election and your vote is very important. We want as many people with learning disabilities to vote as possible and we want people to know what is important to people with learning disabilities and their families. We think it is time that we check the quality of our own Government.

What will we do with your information?

We will not share your personal information or particular opinions with anyone. Everything will remain private. If you give us your email address we will use it to contact you just to let you know when the final results come out. If you want to stay in touch with LDA England then please join us – it’s free.
