Down Syndrome Ireland and Inclusion Ireland are proudly bringing the hit play Sanctuary to Dublin’s Liberty Hall Theatre on Wednesday, December 3rd to mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Sanctuary, which stars actors with intellectual disabilities, highlights the challenges faced by people with disabilities who wish to enjoy healthy, intimate relationships. Actors Charlene Kelly and Kieran Coppinger, both of whom have intellectual disabilities will play the lead roles. This funny and bittersweet production tackles the often hidden world of how people with intellectual disabilities must overcome extraordinary obstacles in order to enjoy an intimate relationship.
We are delighted to have award-winning Irish actress, Charlie Murphy, best known for her lead role as Siobhan Delaney in ‘Love/Hate’, supporting the launch of Sanctuary.
Charlie who who attended the launch spoke about her involvement “It is an honour to be here today and to meet actors Kieran and Charlene who have successfully worked together for seven years. I have always admired the work of DSI and am very excited to be able to support this wonderful play and charity at the same time.”
